VIDEOGRAPHY
WHAT YOU SHOOT
You will be given a scheduled 20-minute time slot with the couple at the event if you would like to grab a quick interview or set certain poses. You’re also welcome to follow the photographers around during their shoots as long as you do not interfere.
An ideal highlight video will showcase what you provide to couples and will highlight both the featured couple and the event as they experience it, as well as the participating vendors. If you have time, an added bonus would be video coverage of the Tunnel of Love! Remember that this is your time to show yourself off creatively. You don’t have one specific couple to please, so show off your own style and talent however fits your company’s personality.
We will provide you with a shot list that highlights the overall goals of what to capture along with the vendor guide which will explain all of our participating vendors. The vendor guide is a great resource that you can use as a “checklist” during the day to be sure you got images for all vendors. You can download the generic shotlist here.
TUNNEL OF LOVE
If you have a second shooter or someone else who can help represent your brand, feel free to bring them to help you market your company in the Tunnel of Love. If you need power at your Tunnel of Love table for either a computer or tablet, make sure to let your production manager know. Each venue is a little different, and they will let you know the specifics on how this works. It’s great to bring an extension cord just in case.
FINAL PRODUCT
Please submit a one-minute teaser highlighting both the couple and vendors within 3 days of the event for inclusion in The Digital Swag Bag. You can share a full highlight video within two weeks of the event with your Production Manager. Please share downloadable links. We will upload this to our Youtube Channel for optimum sharing.
Please be sure to use licensed music. If music isn’t licensed, we won’t be able to share the video on our website or via social media. If you need a logo for The Big Fake Wedding, you can find those here.

SHOOTING THE BIG FAKE WEDDING
We will provide you with a shot list that highlights the overall goals of what to capture along with the vendor guide which will explain all of our participating vendors. The vendor guide is a great resource that you can use as a “checklist” during the day to be sure you got images for all vendors. Our coordinator will help you stay on track with the shot list and schedule when you are shooting the cast.
The more great photos you get of vendors’ work, the more they will use your photos on their website, Instagram, etc and the more they will recommend you. Photos make vendors happy. No photos make vendors sad. Aim to get multiple shots/angles of decor, and try to get at least a few photos for each vendor. It's easy to miss the vendors that don't have a product (band, dj, wedding coordinator, etc.) so please use your vendor guide to make sure you get something for everyone! When you check in on event day, you should receive a sample set of paper products to shoot and other little details. It is a huge benefit to talk to vendors over the course of the day and ask them personally if they need any specific shots! This will encourage relationships with them and build partnerships that may extend outside of the actual event.
BUT, first and foremost you are there to show what you can do, so take photos that represent you and your style. We will remind vendors that you are a vendor too. Have fun knowing that you don’t have one specific couple to please. You get complete creative freedom here!
You will have your own 20-minute block of time with the wedding party before the event to take them where ever you’d like and to pose them for photos. Go crazy and have fun with this! Just make sure that you communicate with the couple and don’t take them on a walk that will take up your entire time slot. *Photographers tend to focus on this block of time, however, capturing the details of the event are what vendors and blogs tend to like most!* When you are not with the cast, try to photograph the vendors’ work, the Tunnel of Love tables, etc. You are also welcome to come a bit early to take photos of the cast getting ready.
During the reception, feel free to stay in the Tunnel of Love or to alternate between there and shooting. You are encouraged to bring a second shooter or at least an assistant to help you with the Tunnel of Love if you plan to take many photos during the reception. We are really just looking for a few reception photos to show off the DJ/band and the fact that it was a party. Obviously, it’s important you have photos to show what you do, but it’s also important that you mingle and market yourself at the event!
You are responsible for bringing any necessary lighting. If you need outlets for your Tunnel of Love table to plug in a computer or tablet, make sure to let your Production Manager know. Each venue is a little different, and your Production Manager can help you answer venue-specific questions.
SECOND SHOOTER POLICY
If you choose to bring a second shooter (which we recommend, especially for Tunnel of Love purposes), please be sure that they are representing your company, not their own. You can pay them in cash, in love, in building a relationship with you as your go-to second shooter… but you can’t pay them (or their photography company) in Big Fake Wedding vendor perks. Any non-participating vendors will not be credited in our program, on our website, in photos, etc and they will not be allowed to advertise themselves at the event, in the Tunnel of Love or represent their own company in the photos that they took as your second shooter. If you have questions about this, your Production Manager can help explain.
SUBMITTING PHOTOS TO US
Photos should be ready and delivered to us via Dropbox AND Pixieset (or other photo sharing site) within one week of the event. A good goal would be to submit around 300 of your favorite images, saved as JPEGs.
1. Submit an album of highlights (about 100 photos), unwatermarked, that are web-sized (1024px width) to us via Dropbox (we will send you an invite to a folder).
2. Please also create a highlights folder within your photo-sharing site submission of the top 100 most “blog-worthy” photos. Since we have three photographers, we want to make it as easy as we can on our blog partners to show you guys off!
3. When submitting through a proofing website like PixieSet, please upload high-resolution photos. Magazines will always require full resolution for print features.
Please note that it is more streamlined to share photos with the vendor team via a photo-sharing site link. The Dropbox uploads help us keep your work on file for use and credit to you for years to come! If you need help (or just a refresher!) in re-sizing images, we have prepared a quick little tutorial for your reference.
CREDITING AND IMAGE RIGHTS
By signing up for The Big Fake Wedding, photographers and videographers agree to release the images so that The Big Fake Wedding, our vendors, and our media partners can share the images. It is our goal to make sure that photos are properly credited; please let us know if you see something we missed!
BLOG SUBMISSION
The Big Fake Wedding will submit all three photographers' photos for consideration to a well-known wedding blog. Though a blog feature is guaranteed, we cannot guarantee which photos will be chosen by the blog.
Out of respect for the blog’s exclusivity policy, we ask that you wait to share these publicly until we give you the go-ahead. We will post a few sneak peeks on our Instagram page that we encourage you to share, and you’re welcome to share just one sneak peek yourself to make the waiting a little easier!
**You are welcome to send a private gallery link to the guest list after the event, as long as the images cannot be pulled and published before the blog post!
