MUST READ!

The Vendor To-Do List

In addition to the planning of the actual product or service you’ll be displaying at the event, here is a to-do list to help you get the most out of The Big Fake Wedding.

When You Sign On

  • Read your Vendor Handbook.

  • Pay your invoice.

  • Review your Inspiration Board. Click here to learn more about how to use this.

  • Let people know that you were chosen to participate! (click here for marketing tools)

Two Months Before

  • Hand out a pair of Golden Tickets (and encourage your recipient to register them asap).

  • Make sure your branding is updated (website, logo, marketing collateral).

  • Plan your Tunnel of Love table: Will you offer any freebies? Give anything away? Will anyone help you man it?

Six Weeks Before

  • Follow The Big Fake Wedding on social media and share our status updates about your event. We usually post an event-specific promotional image around four-weeks out from each event.

  • Have a production call with your Production Manager.

Two Weeks Before

  • Like, follow, etc your fellow Big Fake Wedding team vendors.

  • Verify that your info on the Vendor Guide proof is correct (company name, URL and participating category).

The Day Of

  • Arrive with plenty of time to prepare your contribution and/or Tunnel of Love table.

  • Politely ask photographers to shoot anything that's particularly important about your design.

  • Throw an incredible fake wedding.

The Days Following

  • Utilize the lead list.

  • Prepare a blog post about your participation in the event, and publish it the day that the national blog partner publishes the event.

  • Share the love! Tag vendors on social media, blog about the friendors you made, etc.

  • Collaborate with other vendors on styled shoots and by referring them to your brides.

  • Keep in touch with us. Let us know if you have a cool story about how The Big Fake Wedding impacted your business and/or your work community!

Teamwork

The Big Fake Wedding day is a crazy day of emotions for more people than just the bride and groom! We know that this is an important day to you. We want to do all that we can to help set the tone for a fun and stress-free event, and we ask that you work towards that goal as well. Things we discourage: competition, comparing yourself to others (or others to yourself!), inabilities to be flexible. Things we encourage: teamwork, complimenting others, social media love, going with the flow, dancing...

If you need to collaborate with another Big Fake Wedding vendor (finding jewelry to match the gown or making place cards to match the head table decor, for example), you can ask your Production Manager for an introduction or you can contact a vendor directly by clicking through the links on your event page.
